Template Editors Available in 2025
As of 2025, When creating ClickDimensions email templates, there are four powerful editors to choose from:
Email Designer
- Best for non-technical users
- Drag-and-drop blocks, mobile responsive, visually polished
- Great for fast email creation without needing HTML
New Drag and Drop Editor
- Offers greater layout control
- Supports personalization and dynamic content
- More flexibility than the original designer
Free Style Editor
- WYSIWYG with HTML toggle
- Ideal for users who want a blend of visual design and code editing
HTML Editor
- Complete control for developers
- Paste custom HTML for branded designs or agency-created templates
⚠️ Note: Older editors like the Classic Drag and Drop or Block Editor have been deprecated. The Email Designer is the newest editor available in ClickDimensions as of 2025. It was built to provide a simplified, mobile-friendly experience with an intuitive drag-and-drop interface—making it ideal for marketers who want to create professional emails quickly without coding. As the most modern option, it continues to receive updates and is the recommended editor for most users.
Steps for Creating ClickDimensions Email Templates
Here’s how to start creating ClickDimensions email templates inside Dynamics 365:
- Go to Email Templates
Navigate to ClickDimensions >Messaging (on the bottom left hand of your screen).
- Start a New Template
Click on Templates (on the left hand navigation), then + New
- Enter Template Details
Fill in the template name, subject line, and select your language and type.
In the Email Creative section, choose your preferred editor: Email Designer, New Drag and Drop, Free Style, or HTML.
- Design Your Template
Use the chosen editor to insert content blocks, images, and personalization fields.
- Test Your Template
Use the built-in preview feature or send a test email to see how it renders across devices.
- Save and Use It
Once complete, your email template is ready for Email Sends, Campaign Automations, or Quick Campaigns.
New in Recent Versions: Save Emails as Templates
ClickDimensions now lets you save an Email Send as a template with a built-in button (available in v12.2 and later). If you build an email directly in an Email Send record and want to reuse it, simply click “Create Email Template” to save it instantly.
- Open an existing Email Send (that has content built in)
- Look at the top command bar or within the More Commands (…) menu
- You should see the button labeled “Create Email Template”
