Qualifying leads takes time—and often, that time goes to waste when those leads don’t convert. To address this challenge, Microsoft introduced the Dynamics 365 Sales Qualification Agent, a powerful AI tool built into Dynamics 365 Sales.
Currently, it’s available in public preview. Looking ahead, Microsoft plans to roll it out more broadly by October 2025. This feature helps sales teams focus their time on leads that are most likely to close.

The Dynamics 365 Sales Qualification Agent is an AI assistant that works inside Dynamics 365 Sales. It handles lead research, scoring, and—in its full version—email outreach and follow-up. The agent checks each new lead against your Ideal Customer Profile (ICP). If the lead is a good match, it moves forward in the process.
This tool runs in two different modes:
Research-only: It enriches lead details, scores them for fit, and shares the data with your team.
Research & Engage: It also sends custom emails, follows up, reads responses, and sends good leads to sellers.
The agent uses Microsoft’s FIRE model—Fit, Intent, Recency, and Engagement—to qualify leads in a consistent and intelligent way. For a deeper look, check out this Microsoft Learn article.
Let’s break it down with a quick scenario.
Suppose you sell software to mid-sized manufacturers.
One day, a person named Paul fills out your contact form using a Gmail address. The agent checks the info, marks the email as invalid, and deprioritizes the lead. No action is needed from your team.
Later that same day, Sarah—a sales director at a large manufacturer—fills out the same form. She uses a valid business email and matches your ICP. The Dynamics 365 Sales Qualification Agent sends her a custom email. She clicks a link to learn more. Based on that engagement, the agent qualifies the lead and hands it off to your rep.
In this case, the agent saved time, avoided bad data, and passed a warm lead to your sales team—all automatically.
Sales reps want to spend time selling, not digging through cold leads. That’s exactly what this feature helps with.
It gives your team a better way to manage the top of your funnel by:
Saving time: Reps focus only on qualified leads.
Improving quality: The agent filters out bad data and low-fit contacts.
Speeding up follow-up: Prospects can get an email within seconds.
Creating consistency: Every lead is reviewed using the same criteria.
Even if you’re already using automation, the Dynamics 365 Sales Agent adds AI-powered insight to help your team prioritize faster and smarter.

You can try this feature now if your environment supports it. If it’s not showing up yet, it could be due to your region or version.
To start using the Dynamics 365 Sales Qualification Agent, make sure your system meets the technical requirements. These include mailbox setup, server-side sync, and licensing. Microsoft outlines everything you need in this step-by-step guide.
The Dynamics 365 Sales Qualification Agent isn’t just a helpful add-on—it’s a smarter way to sell. It helps your team move faster, work smarter, and stay focused on real opportunities. Instead of wasting time on unqualified leads, your team can spend more time closing deals.
With full availability expected by October 2025, now’s the time to test it, adjust your ICP, and prepare to bring smarter selling into your business.
