Is Microsoft’s significant investment in Europe paying off?
Evidently, the huge investment Microsoft is making in cloud computing in Europe is paying off. (Total investment, to date, is over 3 million). Microsoft has at least doubled its cloud capacity throughout Europe.
Earlier this week in Dublin, CEO Satya Nadella, and president Brad Smith talked about Microsoft’s progress. Also, Nadella told us that starting in 2017, Microsoft plans to offer Microsoft Azure, Office 365 and Dynamics 365 from datacenters in France.
Also included- the release of a book, A Cloud for Global Good, which outlines the company’s cloud-computing policy recommendations. The book provides a three-part framework for achieving “a trusted, responsible, and inclusive cloud that will help ensure that technology benefits everyone, not just the fortunate few.” Brad Smith
Smith also explains that “Data needs to move across borders, but people need to retain their rights in their personal information and governments need the ability to work together to protect public safety. A new generation of global technology requires a new generation of international law.”
